Zeta Tool was founded in 1997 and has since become a leader in high-quality machining and fabrication services throughout Michigan and the United States. We quickly established ourselves as a top automotive provider, thanks to our Detroit roots, and have since expanded to serve a variety of other industries, including robotics, aerospace, defense, and energy.
Zeta Tool was established in the spring of 1997 in the garage of our family home. With a single bridgeport and lathe, we began providing precision machining services to defense contractors and automotive manufacturers.
As the decade progressed, customers quickly recognized the exceptional quality and precision of our work. Growing demand required additional space and equipment.
First Facility Expansion
Zeta Tool relocated to a 1,200 sq. ft. unit in Utica, Michigan.
By the early 2000s, the Zeta Tool name had become synonymous with custom, on-demand machining for both automotive and defense customers. To support expanding customer needs, we invested in our first state-of-the-art boring mill in 2002, significantly increasing our capabilities.
Growth Continues
To further expand our machining operations, Zeta Tool moved into a 5,000 sq. ft. facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
In 2010, we added two more state-of-the-art boring mills, solidifying our position as a leader in high-quality machining and fabrication throughout Michigan and the United States.
Major Upgrade
In 2017, Zeta Tool purchased a 20,000 sq. ft. facility at 1350 Piedmont Drive in Troy, Michigan. This new space not only increased manufacturing capacity but also allowed us to build dedicated departments for inside sales, administration, and finance, while expanding our machining and fabrication teams.
Throughout the late 2010s, we invested in three additional large boring mills and a large floor mill, further boosting production capacity and reducing lead times to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
With these upgrades, Zeta Tool delivered faster order fulfillment, smoother internal processes, and enhanced custom-manufacturing capabilities.
Strategic Expansion
After years of searching the market, Zeta Tool acquired another large floor mill along with two new CNC machines, further strengthening our large-format machining capabilities.
We also vertically integrated a structural fabrication department, giving us greater control over lead times, quality, and project complexity.
In addition, we completed a full modernization of our website, marketing, and sales operations in preparation for a significant expansion of our customer base and service offerings.
